The format for the April 20th and April 30th Candidate Forums is as follows:

  • Each candidate will be given 2 minutes for opening remarks.

  • 4 questions will be asked of each candidate in turn, requesting that answers be completed within 2 minutes.

  • Each candidate will be given 2 minutes for closing comments.

Due to time constraints and advice from County Counsel, your 2 minute answers will be timed and then the next candidate will be announced. Partisan and negative comments, profanity, and criticizing others is discouraged as we are all very eager to hear why you will make a difference and how.

The 4 questions that will be asked are:

  1. What are your top three priorities for unincorporated Clackamas County, and what specific, measurable outcomes will you use to show progress within your first term?

  2. Unincorporated residents make up nearly half of Clackamas County, but lack city-level representation. What specific steps will you take to ensure their interests are equally represented in county decisions - and how will you measure whether that’s working?

  3. What specific, measurable goals would you set to protect resource lands (farm, forest, natural, wetlands, waterways, shorelines, etc.) in Clackamas County, and how would you balance that with development pressure?

  4. What changes would you make to improve enforcement of existing land use and development rules, and how would you measure whether enforcement is actually improving?
