Stafford Hamlet Community

As residents of a rural unincorporated area in Clackamas County, we have adopted a set of Values and Vision for our community. The Stafford Hamlet was born out of the idea that change is inevitable, including changing the way we develop. We value the qualities – the "Stafford Character" – that make our community a desirable place to live.

Congestion on Stafford Road

Stafford Hamlet resident, Rick Cook, wrote a song about traffic congestion on Stafford Road

In a world where traffic is often viewed as an inevitable and frustrating part of daily life, one local resident has found a unique way to express those feelings—through music. Meet Rick Cook, a long-time resident of our community, who has channeled his daily battles with the endless traffic jams into a catchy and relatable song: "World Class-Top Notched Traffic Jam."

Lyrics here:

STAFFORD’S TOP-NOTCH-WORLD CLASS TRAFFIC JAM

Starting with the upgrade and extension of L.O.’s golf driving range,

It’s beginning of our Top-Notch-World Class traffic pattern change.

Clubhouse now an event center, official name now Oswego Hall,

Add a Top-Notch new Rec. Center a short walk across an outdoor mall.

Check in now at Top-Notch Golf Course, to hit that little dimpled ball,

Over par on new holes by shots “hooked” over Lakeridge’s baseball wall?

Back to the World Class Rec. Center to see what’s just down the hall,

Finding rooms for yoga, fitness, even courts for pickle and basket-ball.

Just the start to show you, LO’s Top-Notch-World Class Traffic Jam,

and how it is that LO has built a Leaking World Class Traffic Dam.

Next to the Top-Notched Rec. Center, World Class Aquatic Center will be found,

Two pools, a slide, a spa, shared by City and schools to swim and splash around.

LORAC a major attraction and contributor to our World Class Traffic Jam,

Want to know how traffic flows? Install Stafford’s first Top-Notched Traffic Cam.

No, we’re not done yet more to come south down Stafford Road,

Church property development with traffic brought by 54 new abodes.

Thirty feet across Rassekh maintenance road, oh for goodness sake,

Skatepark draws more traffic in; skaters driving in when they come to skate.

Phase two of Rassekh park’s master plan, new playground coming soon,

May not be Top-Notched or World Class, but neighbors say it’s all in tune.

Another new addition to our Top-Notched World Class Traffic Jam

More pressure on our growing drips and Leaking World Class Traffic Dam.

Rassekh Phase Three is yet to come, no funding to be found,

May give us time for traffic plan that is considered to be sound.

Turning East to Luscher Farm, State Park Overlay now being planned,

More traffic thru roundabout, new Rosemont driveway should be banned.

Where’s our Top-Notched options, for expansion of Luscher Farm?

More driveway options available to enhance Luscher’s World Class Charm.

Look at early designed entrance, winding south of Hazelia field,

Would enhance our Top-Notched-World Class CSA’S veggies yield.

Once a Top-Notched roundabout, solving a dangerous traffic issue,

Now battling a failing Top-Notched third world classic traffic jujitsu.

Roundabout at failure, development won’t fix it not just yet,

Wait 10 years to correct it, using County money we all bet!

A “World Class” pool among us, “Top Notched” Rec. Center to adore,

Forgot to deal with the World Class Traffic Dam, a thing we all do abhor.

What’s the solution to our Top-Notched-World Class traffic jam,

Put dollars with the County and fix Stafford’s World Class Leaking Traffic DAM!
